I have taken this time to assist many of my mother's friends to achieve balance in their lives. In my belief, she's not dead which is a common western with absolutely no reference in fact, it's simply a belief.
I believe in God which is Nature and the nature of all things, nothing is ever dead, it's Spirit roams the cosmos for eternity, ever yours and ever presented by the Spirit they placed in you and all those around them. This is passed on forever, generations will pass and some kid will say, "Where did dad learn that"? And dad won't even know.
So, I'll begin to convey what my mom placed in me by sharing tech, info, cooking tips and everything else she placed in me.
