Trump tells officials how Putin will respond to meddling question

"I will absolutely bring that up. I don't think you'll have any, 'Gee, I did it. I did it. You got me.' There won't be a Perry Mason here, I don't think, but you never know what happens, right? But I will absolutely, firmly ask the question," Trump said. "And hopefully, we'll have a very good relationship with Russia."

Instead, the US President is setting his sights on establishing a new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) between the United States and Russia to continue decades of progressive nuclear disarmament between the two countries, the source told CNN. The source said Trump has been fired up about making progress on extending the US and Russia's denuclearization treaty, now known as New Start which is set to expire in 2021.
Trump sees progress on an arms control treaty as the likeliest area of progress for the Trump-Putin summit, the source said.
"The proliferation is a tremendous -- I mean, to me, it's the biggest problem in the world, nuclear weapons. Biggest problem in the world," Trump said on Friday. "So, we could do something to substantially reduce them -- I mean, ideally get rid of them. It's -- maybe that's a dream."
The White House declined a CNN request for comment.
But as Trump and Putin prepare to arrive in Helsinki, the source with knowledge of the discussions said there is still no set, organized agenda for the summit. Privately, Trump has also made clear that he is unsure how the summit will unfold and what the outcome will be, the source said.
The risks of the meeting, the source said, are if Trump offers something for free -- such as reducing US support for Ukraine or offers ambiguity on Crimea. Or if Trump's bonding with Putin emboldens Europeans who want to lift sanctions on Russia -- the new Italian government, Hungary or Austria.
Trump and US officials have made clear they intend to raise a series of issues during the Helsinki summit, from the ongoing civil war in Syria to Russian actions in Ukraine to cyberactivities and North Korea.
Trump believes his discussions with Putin on Syria could yield the crude beginnings of a deal, but any agreement would be very preliminary. Trump, who is eager to withdraw US troops from the country, would like for Russia to get the Iranians to pull out of Syria, according to the source, but many experts within and outside the administration see that as an unrealistic demand the Russians will not be able to deliver on.
On North Korea, Ukraine and cyber issues, the potential outcomes of Trump and Putin's talks seem less clear.
The source with knowledge of Trump's discussions said Putin is still eager to form a joint Russia-US cybersecurity unit, which remains unlikely. The source said it is possible Trump and Putin agree to a working-level dialogue on cybersecurity issues.
On North Korea, the source said Russian officials do not believe Trump's maximum pressure campaign has worked, but agree on the objective of nonproliferation and want to be involved in the denuclearization talks.
The United States, though, would rather continue its bilateral talks with North Korea. However, this source believes it's likely Putin will offer technical assistance, such as expertise in the removal of nuclear material and that Trump may well agree to Russian involvement in some way, which would also be something of a win for Putin.

White House keeps summit preparation under wraps

Ahead of his one-on-one with Putin, officials said Trump has spent the past two days preparing for the summit by meeting with advisers who traveled with him and phoning those who didn't. But aside from that, the White House been incredibly tight-lipped about the extent of the President's preparations.
"The President has had several phone calls with relevant stakeholders and was joined at Turnberry by aides and administration officials for multiple meetings," one White House official told CNN.
Another added, "In preparation for the meeting with Putin, President Trump has spoken with allies, discussed the issues with administration officials, and met with advisors while at NATO, in the U.K, and in Turnberry."
As he boarded Air Force One Sunday, national security adviser John Bolton was asked how the Putin preparations had gone. "Fine, thanks," he said, before turning and climbing the stairs.
Although US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman held a call with reporters 10 days ago, in a departure from previous meetings with world leaders, the White House has not held a dedicated background briefing with reporters to preview the Putin meeting. As of Sunday night, none was scheduled, according to one official.
The White House did put two administration officials on television Sunday -- Bolton and Huntsman. During his interview with Chuck Todd, Huntsman insisted that Monday isn't a summit, but "a meeting" with Putin, noting to Todd that there is "no state dinner, no joint statement, no deliverables that are pre-packaged."
However, Trump later referred to it as a "summit" on Twitter.

FACTS YOU MUST KNOW BEFORE BUYING AN AKITA

For this first article, I particularly wanted to introduce you and especially with no taboo my favorite dog breed. Those who follow us for a while know the energy that I put to inform, prevent and advise (at my level) people who are closely interested about this superb breed. On instagram and many other social medias, you can admire this beautiful breed : the AKITAS
I gather today the two breeds , the Akita Inu and the American Akita because they remain similar despite some small details. These beautiful Japanese dogs make us dream by their presence, beauty and strength … Indeed, Akitasare incomparable loyal dogs, clever with a temperament approaching cats and their attitudes are sometimes very funny. ( Sure that some owners will smile )

DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER !

Their teddy bear appearance can often cause issues for peoples who do not know the breed. Yep, they look like cubs but they’re not made of marshmallow ^^ .  As a primitive breed, there are many things to know before buying this kind of dogs. First facts you should know is that Akitas are naturally very dominant, they hardly tolerate other dogs especially of the same gender. A huge socialization from a very early age is extremely important to accustom the dog to tolerate its furriends the best way as possible. Nevertheless, Akitas build their characters well after adolescence, a puppy or young dog who willingly played with his comrades can very well stop this overnight and no longer accept contact with them, be sure that he can also attack them .
This is why it is strongly discouraged to get an akita of the same gender if you already have a dog and if you don’t even have the necessary facilities to separate them for life. For life, because akitas are very resentful, usually if they decided to no longer accept a dog, it is forever. To avoid abandonment, you must be aware of this risk and not try to change their temperament. Those who have already experienced an Akita fight know that it’s gonna be very difficult to separate and that it won’t be without some risks. Yes, they are real ninjas ! Don’t think that because your current dogs are submissive or very sociable, that the Akita who has grown up with will necessarily get along with them during all his life. Many peoples are very surprised and often don’t even know what to do when a fight comes and that’s usually very hard to stop them. The “pulling the back legs’s technical doesn’t really works with akitas.

KEYS TO SUCCESS: POSITIVE EDUCATION, PATIENCE, SOCIALIZATION AND LOVE

It is necessary to raise an akita with gentleness, patience and a lot of tact. Positive education is paramount with them. We educate but we do not train an akita … Despite the fact that it is not a breed that obeys perfectly, we can achieve very beautiful things through a smooth and regular work.
Personally, I manage to obtain a great result of obedience with Malcolm to which I am very proud. He likes to make me happy and it’s proof of a successful connection between us. Like all primitives, their hunting instinct is very present.
A recall will never be one hundred percent reliable when an Akita decides to go hunting. Many owners use large lanyards to let them sniff and hunt in peace but especially safely. You should know that akitas owners often keep their dogs on a leash because of the risk of crossing other dogs or if they decide to go hunting . They are relaxed without leash in safe places and cleared to see a potential danger. If you have the habit or the desire to have a dog without leash and without constraints, you will be disappointed to see that the akita is not suitable for you. For many owners, outings are not always just relaxation and their obsession is to cross detached dogs. Most incidents happen very often in this way.

CODES VERY DIFFERENT FROM OTHER DOGS

Akitas carry their tails and their ears very hightheir postures return to other dogs some signals which they can interpretlike dangerousSome will go and face them, others with more canine codes will go their way. Sheepdogs are particularly even more sensitive to the akita’s attitude because their canine codesare rather different. After several experiments of my friends akita owners and with the sight of the reserve of my owndog with the German Shepherds, I could notice that it is particularly necessary to be very careful between Shepherdsand Akitas, but not only

Akitas are often not recommended for people who have never owned dogs but personally I think that sometimes it is better to be a first time owner who has time to devote to education, socialization of his dog and who feels the desire to learn, rather than someone knowledgeable about other dog breeds and who think that Akitas are the same and applies stuffs that are not necessarily valid for an Akita. Obviously you have to have grip and tact to manage them, but it can be learned, especially when you are well prepared.
For all breeds, research are necessary before adopting a dog. Meeting owners, breeders are the best way to learn more about them. Ask yourself whether or not you’ll be able and if you will know how to fill the needs of the breed. Each of them have specificities that needs to be adapted. In the opposite case, it is better to continue daydreaming while looking at pretty pictures. Don’t think either to change the instinct and behavior of a primitive, that’s why we shouldn’t buy a dog for his beauty, there are enough dogs in shelters.
To minimize abandonment or accidents, it is better to be ready to meet all these conditions to accommodate a dog like this.
Talking about the Akita breed without taboo is important, they are not bloodthirsty monsters, they simply need some space with other dogs and you just have to know how to respect it. If you cross an akita during a walk with your dog, it would be better to avoid any problem, to get yours on leash if it’s not already done or to have a good control on him to not approach the other dog, unless the akita owner has proposed it to you.

    AN EXTREMELY WONDERFUL BREED

As an Akita Lover, I am very happy to discover them a little bit more each day, because we learn every day a new thing with them. Their behaviors are so interesting and their attitudes often very funny, they are often called cat-dogs and this is rather true. The love of an Akita is an inestimable thing, on this point I take willingly the example of  the legend “Hatchiko” .
I hope that you will enjoy this first article dedicated to the Akita breed. Feel free to visit kennels, meet owners and send us messages if you have other questions.

    See you soon !

What happens to asylum seekers crossing illegally into Canada?

Here's how the refugee claims process works for people who enter Canada illegally.
     A A
The RCMP intercepted nearly 3,000 people who entered Quebec through the United States in July. These people, many of them Haitians, crossed the border illegally, not at official border crossings.
They’re being temporarily housed in tents near the border at Lacolle, Que., and Cornwall, Ont.
Here’s how the government processes their claims:

    1. The person crosses illegally into Canada

A person enters Canada, not at the official border crossing. This matters because it means that the Safe Third Country Agreement between Canada and the U.S. doesn’t apply unless the person enters at an official crossing. If the agreement did apply, these people could be immediately turned back to the U.S., because they should have made a refugee claim there instead.

    2. They’re arrested by the RCMP and turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency

The RCMP intercepts the person and turns them over to the Canada Border Services Agency, which begins the admissibility process.

    3. The CBSA does security screening

The CBSA takes the person’s picture, records their fingerprints and does a number of background checks on them to determine whether they are ineligible to enter Canada for security reasons. They’re looking for things like a serious criminal record or a history of violating human rights, or membership in a terrorist group. If they fail this security screening, they’re deported to their country of origin – not the United States. In some cases, this order can be appealed.

    4. The government determines whether the person is eligible to make a refugee claim

You’re only allowed to make a refugee claim one time in Canada. If you applied before and were turned down or abandoned your claim, or if you’ve already been granted refugee status in another country, you’re not eligible to make a claim. People who aren’t eligible are also deported to their home countries, or if they have refugee status elsewhere, to that country. Again, this can be appealed in some cases.
Right now, because of the huge influx of people crossing the border illegally, this step is delayed by up to five months, according to Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen, though he said that the government is working on speeding things up. In the meantime, these individuals will be receiving health care, something the government says is necessary due to the delays. The Quebec government is also considering giving them welfare payments.
Normally, people don’t get access to these supports until the next step.

    5. If eligible, the person makes a refugee claim

If a person is found to be admissible to Canada and eligible to make a refugee claim, they can start filling out the paperwork. They should have their first hearing in front of the Immigration and Refugee Board within a few months, according to immigration lawyer Lorne Waldman, though he says that the high volume of claims has led to “slippage” on that deadline.
The claimant needs to show that they have a well-founded fear of persecution in their home country due to race, religion, political opinion, nationality or membership in a social group to be granted refugee status.
To be determined a “person in need of protection,” a person needs to show that if they return they would be in danger of being tortured, that there would be a risk to their life, or there would be a risk of cruel and unusual treatment.

Care to take the, "Am I full of shit test"?

People amaze me with their theological utterings that they attempt to convey to me. "Christians", tell me that heaven is a million times better than being here on earth while Islamists stand before  Munkar and Naki to be judged and if they lived correctly they enjoy peace and harmony.
Judaism speaks of "heaven and hell" and the resurrection yet it gets kind of vague as to how it really works, oh well.

Here's the question, "If you "believe" the afterlife promised you via your preferred book and following, why do you fight so Hard to remain here"?
I mean you run for pills, do the risky surgery, you fly overseas for  unapproved FDA procedures, you take vitamins and jog at 80 years of age, people are even willing to be frozen with cryogenics...

I think you're full of shit!

You talk it but you don't walk it and Then you try and push the same belief you don't believe in on others. I have never witnessed a greater form of hypocrisy in my life!
You may have your neighbors fooled but you don't fool me.

Well how did you do, are you full of shit?

Do you ever wonder how D. Trump got elected?

I just witnessed a female news anchorwoman say that she would gladly go into space on one of Jeff Bezos spacecraft to send a pic back to her friends on earth even if it cost her her life. LMAO
Here's why > Life is short but "likes" on Instagram are forever.
    = Complete idiot.

How fiber protection is enabling next-generation automotive systems

Today’s cars are full of the latest electronic toys, making them a moving office and entertainment center all in one.
We have CD players, iPod ports, Bluetooth connections to our smartphones, Sat Nav with instant traffic feedback, front/rear view cameras, sensors, radar distance control to the car in front and voice activated controls, to name just a few. And this trend is increasing – cars are really becoming connected, mobile computing platforms that happen to have a steering wheel.

    The growth of automotive electronics

However how many of us actually think about what’s there and what makes it work? We probably take it for granted, as these electronics are now an integral part of what makes our driving experience so engaging and safe. So what powers these systems and where are they located?
The current trend in automotive design seems to favor putting the electronic hardware in the trunk (boot). These little boxes of electronics need a power supply, which is easily supplied from the nearby battery, to be kept cool and safe behind rear panels hidden away from prying fingers and the sun, and most importantly incoming and outgoing data signals.

Let’s take a closer look at the data requirements of today’s modern car. It has grown from audio at 5.6Mb/s through basic video at 25Mb/s to HD video at 150Mb/s and now 1Gb/s for perimeter monitoring cameras. As in every environment, demand is forever growing as new applications and sensors are added all the time.

The options for getting data quickly around the car

So having established that there is a growing requirement for high data rates in automotive wiring system what are the options available to manufacturers?

Essentially they split into three groups:
    1. Copper twisted pair
    2. Co-axial cables
    3. Fiber optic connections
      1. Glass
      2. Plastic Optical Fiber (POF)
Each has its strengths and weaknesses:
    • Copper twisted pair – Mechanically strong, robust and simple interconnect technology but limited on data rates at higher levels and suffers from possible interference from other devices in the vehicle platform.
    • Co-axial cables – Mechanically strong, robust and simple interconnect technology but bulky, less flexible and heavy, making it bad for overall vehicle weight.
    • Fiber Optics (glass) – while glass has a fantastic data rate capability it needs a good sheath package to make it robust, it is not easy to terminate and there are question marks over how it handles vibration.
    • Fiber Optics (POF) - has good mechanical strength, easy to cut and terminate on the manufacturing shop floor (as no splicing or polishing is required), robust with respect to vibration, lightweight, no danger of interference, and ideal for short transmission distances. It now has volume deployments in vehicle platforms. POF does have bandwidth and distance limitations compared to glass fiber, although current research aims to increase capacity to gigabit levels.

How I cut out my niche with my employers

I took a job as a mechanic yesterday and within 16 hours of employment I asked, "Who updates your programs, firmware and does your disk clean and defrag"? "Who do you use for tech support such as net connectivity issues as well as with your physical wiring"? Oh, you have "several" vendors and service technicians, how much would you save if you only needed one?

I look at all employment as on the job training and by Monday morning I'm going to have a handle on the "how to's" of these devices and their programs.
    That's just how I roll.

(Paraphrase) Why is the US still in Afghanistan

*This is bullshit! America is in Afghanistan for one reason and one reason only, someone has to protect those poppy fields because we need opium to produce tons of synthetic drugs in order to sell them to you!

The latest, dreadful suicide bombings in Kabul and Kandahar, which killed more than 50 people on Monday, have again focused attention on the continuing failure of American-led efforts to stabilise the country. After 16 years of conflict, critics say, the US is in a triple bind: it cannot win the war, it cannot halt the war, and it cannot leave.

As civilian casualties rise, and with no sign that recent American and Nato reinforcements are making a difference, an already dire security situation is growing more complex. Part of the problem is that Islamic State and the Taliban appear to be competing for the title of “most feared terrorists”. Isis claimed Monday’s twin explosions in Kabul, and last week’s attack on a voter registration centre that killed 60 people. But it was the Taliban who perpetrated two infamous atrocities in January. In one, an ambulance packed with explosives blew up, killing nearly 100 people. In the other, Kabul’s luxury Intercontinental hotel was turned into a battlefield.

Last week, the Taliban launched their 2018 spring offensive, threatening ever greater mayhem. According to US estimates, government forces control less than 60% of Afghanistan, with the remainder either contested or under the control of the insurgents.

Another problem is the terrorists are now specifically targeting Afghanistan’s fragile, fledgling democracy. Hence the repeated attacks on government ministries, organisers of October’s parliamentary and district elections, and journalists working for independent local and western media.

Every new act of mass murder in a high-profile public location weakens the authority, at home and abroad, of Ashraf Ghani, Afghanistan’s besieged president. Ghani unveiled an ambitious peace plan in February, offering an immediate ceasefire and unconditional talks. The only reply he has received so far is a wave of bloodshed. Ghani is not alone in his impotence. Last August, Donald Trump unveiled a “fight to win” strategy, reversing his previous hands-off stance. Trump deployed an additional 3,000 troops, increased the scope and autonomy of counter-terrorism operations, and asked Nato allies to do more to help.

Trump’s initiative has proved almost as ineffective as his decision, a year ago last month, to drop the “mother of all bombs” (officially, the massive ordnance air blast or MOAB) on a supposed Isis cave and tunnel complex in eastern Afghanistan. Trump boasted of a big victory, lending new meaning to the word “bombastic”.

Rather than curb the violence and enforce the peace, Trump’s green light for greater use of armed drones, quick-fire US air force strikes and special forces counter-terror ops appears to have had the opposite effect. According to UN figures published in February, a rise in the number of undiscriminating attacks last year contributed to more than 10,000 civilian casualties, including nearly 3,500 killed. As in the past, most of the casualties were caused by insurgent action – but by no means all.

In the absence of a holistic US strategy, Afghanistan risks becoming one large training ground and weapons testing site for the American armed forces. Trump is now reportedly reverting to his previous sceptical stance on the Afghan imbroglio. Rand Paul, a Republican senator known for isolationist views, said Trump agreed the US should forget “fight to win” and cut and run instead. “The president told me over and over again in general we’re getting the hell out of there,” Paul told the Washington Post this week. Trump’s apparent volte-face, channelling the Grand Old Duke of York, mirrors his recent, impulsive decision to pull US troops out of Syria.

More serious students of America’s Afghan dilemma believe that whatever Trump may say, the US is stuck there indefinitely. It is broadly accepted in Washington that the war cannot be “won” in the conventional sense. Nor can it be halted, given the refusal of the insurgents to discuss peace, its growing, Syria-like complexity and Trump’s disdain for diplomacy.

“A simple win-loss dynamic is the wrong way to think about the war. America’s not in Afghanistan to win. It’s there to hold the line,” said Nicholas Grossman, professor of political science at the University of Illinois, writing in National Review.

America’s aim was no longer democratic nation-building, as in the era of George W Bush, Grossman said. There was no ideal end state in view. But the US had no choice but to stay in order to prevent jihadist groups filling any future vacuum, as happened in Iraq; to keep the Iranians and Russians out; and to keep Pakistan honest, stable, and in the US column. As the death toll mounts and the elected government weakens, the sum of America’s shrunken Afghan ambition appears to be: hang on in there – and fingers crossed.
